Our Creative Communities project, funded by Hywel Dda Health Board and Carmarthenshire County Council, is providing people who have experienced mental health problems with the opportunity to take part in a 4-week online photography project led by Arts Care Gofal Celf’s artist Sheree Murphy.
The weekly workshops will take place on Thursday afternoons, online via Zoom, as follows:
1) Composition and capturing a photograph
2) Studying photographers through history: photographers who have found their voice/identity, campaigners through photography; this is to highlight the creative engagement that photography can give to an individual for positive change and to give a voice/positive communication
3) Set a mini brief: e.g. for patterns in nature, the mini brief would be about connecting to nature or identity, etc.
4) Photographic walk: this would encourage mindfulness and connecting to our environment.
The course also hopes to include an optional face-to-face workshop so that you can get to work with Sheree in person, sharing a photo walk out in nature towards the end of the project.
For more information, please click here. No experience is necessary, no fancy equipment is needed; just book a place, and Sheree will guide you through the rest of this wonderful photography opportunity.
