Arts Care Gofal Celf Virtual Arts Care Package 12

A few arty updates for you this week to continue to support creativity and wellbeing at home.

Oriel Bevan Jones Opening
We are delighted to announce that our Gallery located at the front of our offices in Carmarthen, Oriel Bevan Jones Gallery, is now open to the public, Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
We have a one-way system in place, hand sanitiser upon entry and social distancing signs to keep you safe. We aren’t able to offer face-to-face workshops just yet, but we will continue to offer opportunities online to engage with people. Therefore, until you can work with our wonderful Arts Care Gofal Celf artists, why not pop in to see their work on show in the gallery?

Virtual Gallery Opportunities
First virtual lockdown gallery: just a snippet of work created during March to June 2020: click here (also on our Facebook page: click here).
Next virtual gallery ‘Creative Achievements During Lockdown 2020’: we are still continuing to collect work for this, so you are not too late. It is a place to show any of your creative endeavours during the last few surreal months of lockdown: anything from textiles, sculpture, painting, land art, photography, beautifully visibly mended clothing to crochet shawls, jewellery or craft work; whatever you have created, whether it is your greatest artistic achievement or something arty that has helped you through the last few months.
To enter submissions for the virtual exhibition, please email high-quality images of one or two pieces of your work to rachel@acgc.co.uk  (think about how best to capture the work, make sure it is not blurred, and so on). Include your name as you would like it displayed, if you would like this included alongside your work. Anonymous displays are absolutely fine, too.
(It might be that all are kept anonymous, depending on technology and user abilities when putting it together!) It would be nice to hear any additional information about your work, such as why you would like to share it or when you made it, what artform it is (if not immediately obvious) or what it means to you. This information will not be displayed; it is just out of interest, as we love anything that captures the arts alive in the community. Please send images before Monday 27 July 2020 at 12pm.

Daily Drawing Prompts
We have decided to continue our daily drawing prompts, which are on our Facebook page (click here). In case you can’t access these but still want to have a go, we have collated the last series of prompts: click here
These may also make their way into a July Drawing Prompt virtual gallery, so there are plenty of opportunities to get your creative side out there.

Creative Writing
Our Write Well workshops have been a great success! Therefore, we are hoping to continue these creative writing sessions via live Zoom sessions for people who have experienced mental health problems. Further details on this to follow next week.
