As schools have opened and a hint of some new normality emerges, this will be our final official virtual ARTS Care package. However, we will continue to update you with specific arts opportunities as they arise.
Check out the stats below, showing just how much creativity was achieved during the recent lockdown.
Daily Creative Prompts
During August, we provided daily photography prompts on our Facebook page. If you aren’t on Facebook and missed out, then we have attached the lists of prompts here and here so you can take part in your own time, if you like. Photos will be included in an online gallery, which will be available soon. Below are just some of the photos submitted during August, arranged into a rainbow of colourful creativity.
We have decided to continue with the photography prompts throughout September. If you want to get involved, follow us here.
Angharad and her team of dancers are taking small steps to re-introduce face-to-face dance classes, starting at a venue in Whitland: Studio 17.
Early years dance, Kids dance and Kids/youth dance will all be on Mondays: click here.
Aerial yoga: to work with lovely Jess on 26 September 2020, click here.
Seated dance classes: coming soon, too.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com for further dance updates.
This project supports adults who have experienced mental health problems to access professionally led arts workshops, free of charge. If you are not currently on our mailing list to hear about updates with this project, then let us know if you feel you or someone you know may benefit.
Creative Writing: We currently have our creative writing workshops Write Well taking place online on Fridays: click here. We expect to offer additional dates for this project to continue, so it is not too late to take part.
Photography, Mindfulness and Nature: Starting on Thursday 17 September 2020, a series of four online workshops plus an optional face-to-face workshop to work with photo artist Sheree out in nature. Click here.
Further activities will take place over the coming months. These will likely be a blend of online workshops via Zoom as well as face-to-face workshops, indoors and outdoors, once suitable venues are secured.
Mosaic in Llandeilo
One of our artists Dani is leading a mosaic opportunity for the local community to get involved in the design and creation of a mosaic artwork. If you live in Llandeilo and fancy getting involved, click here.
Arts Care Gofal Celf on YouTube
We still have a number of creative tutorials on our YouTube page (plant inks, yoga, creative writing, collagraph print and so on), which will continue to be free to access. Click here to subscribe to our YouTube page.
We also have artists’ profiles on there, telling you a little about some of the artists we work with and their own artwork. Feel free to check out the work in real life at our gallery in Carmarthen, too: Oriel Bevan Jones Gallery (currently open Thursday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm).
The online exhibitions are also on the channel, showcasing the work you have created over the last few months. August’s Daily Photography Task Exhibition is soon to be added.
